The vision of your painting:
The more I know about your vision for the portrait the better! Multiple photos or even a video of your pet will help me capture the personality. Tell me about your pet, their favorite toy or activity. Describe any traits, like silly, curious, mischievous, sweet, this will all help me get to know your pet. My goal is not to strictly copy a photo, but to capture the likeness of your pet in my unique creative style.
The examples shown are mostly dogs (I am a dog person, what can I say?), but I will paint any kind of pet for you: cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits - how about your iguana?
If you are not happy with the first proof, let me know what you want changed and we will work on this together. Please note that edits may increase the production time of the painting.
Photo tips:
The better the photo, the better the painting! High resolution and natural lighting usually work out better - think about these details: are the eyes showing up clearly? Is your pet blurry or in focus? Did the flash go off, creating very high contrast? Is it a closeup or is your pet far away?
(Note: A photo taken on your phone is usually high enough resolution.) If you are unsure which photo to pick, I will happily help guide you through the decision process!
About the canvas:
Unless otherwise discussed, the painting will be completed on a 5/8 inch thick stretched canvas, with the sides of the canvas painted. The painting will be signed on the front and back. I have multiple standard sizes in stock, but if you are looking for a different size canvas, let me know and we can figure something out. Keep in mind, the smaller canvases will have less room for detail, while larger canvases will have more flexibility. The painting will be ready to hang upon arrival, for your ease and convenience.
A certificate of Authenticity is included with this painting. Signed by the artist.
Frames are not included.
As the creator of the artwork, the artist J. L. Witty retains the authority to produce additional reproductions or closely related paintings, holding the exclusive rights to do so.
